“The Difference Between Stumbling Blocks and Stepping Stones is How You Use Them”

Social Skills Groups

Through effective teaching, Stepping Stones Therapy uses a variety of techniques and methods to develop, enhance, and generalize social/cognition skills. Groups are comprised of 2-6 peers ranging in age from 3 years old - 18 years old, and meet one time per week for one hour sessions.

Groups are comprised of peers with similar cognitive, behavioral, and social/pragmatic skills. Skills acquisition and proficiency occurs through small group practice, role play and homework assignments, as well as strategies that provide generalization such as goal setting and self monitoring. A collaborative approach is taken within group sessions utilizing parent input and peer support.

Stepping Stones Therapy seeks out the collaborative efforts of all professionals involved in the treatment of your child.
